Some Changes and Other Info

We're hitting the ground running this week!

***The updates this week have links that you can click on to learn about some of our upcoming events***

Here's some quick calendar updates and changes:
          - The first half of the Mammoth Cave/Barren River State Park Field Trip Payment ($30 for students/$35 for chaperones) is due by February 3rd.
          - I sent home a slip today reminding you all of our next field trip to Frankfort on January 28th.  We'll be viewing the Kentucky State Capital/Kentucky History Museum.  The payment is $3.00 for each child/adult attending (chaperones included, although chaperones must drive/carpool themselves).  If you are interested in chaperoning, please make sure to take care of a background check via the front office ASAP!
           - This Friday will be the Reading Counts Cinema Celebration AS WELL AS the 4th Grade Auction.  A big THANK YOU to all of you who have some generously donated so many items so far this week!
-We'll also be having another surprise Friday morning, but students, you'll just have to wait and see what that is!
This week, you've gotta check out the Math Timed Tests underneath the Math Games tab.  Your child can chose any math operation (division, multiplication, addition, or subtraction), choose how many questions she/he would like to attempt, and then see how long it takes him/her to answer all of the question.  When the game is finished, you're even shown the correct answer to the problems you missed.  Parents, don't be afraid to try it out, too!

Phew, I think that's it.  Hopefully U.K. can pull out a win in their bowl game this weekend, and I'm also hoping my Auburn Tigers can do the same Monday night!  Students, I need to apologize in advance if I look a tad tired next Tuesday morning!

As always, if you have any questions, please let me know via email at donald.piercey@woodford.kyschools.us

Thanks again for all each of you do.  This year has been great so far in part to all of your extra support from home.

  2. hey mrp i am having trouble with division

  3. C.U.B.

If you're having trouble with your basic division facts, you can practice them by playing "Drag Race Division" in the math games. It's cool, and you can even race again your friends!

If you'd like more help solving LONG DIVISION problems, there's a few underneath the math games. My two favorites for that are the "Long Division Lesson" or the "Divide Two Numbers" link.

Play those for a bit, especially the practicing of your basic facts.

    Thanks for your comment!
