Washington, DC Letters Went Home Today

Map of Washington, DC
Students and Parents,
If you look in this week's Take Home Folders, you'll find a "Washington, DC Interest Survey".  We're trying to figure out our numbers for our Spring DC trip.  If you could, please return that survey as soon as possible!  I give my students until Wednesday for their take home folders to be returned.  Please let me know about any questions that you all have regarding this trip.  Right now, it is scheduled for April 10th through the 13th.

This week also marks the first week of paychecks in the fifth grade.  Your first paycheck will be put into your bank account automatically on Friday.  Students and parents alike, you can check your bank accounts by clicking the button up the top of mrpiercey.com which says bank.  Or, you can just click this link (click).  Right now, your username is your first name in all lowercase letters.  Your current temporary password is the name of the COUNTY you live in.  By the end of this week, it will be changed to your lunch number.  Parents, feel free to check your child's bank account frequently as we will be updating it weekly about any withdrawals or bonuses that your child received during the week.

Also, Simmons Elementary now has its own official blog, too.  You can check it out by going to http://simmonsschool.blogspot.com.  If you'd like to receive email updates from there, please type your address in the box on the top right on the blog.

One last thing -- at least for now :-)  I know that many of you use "Internet Explorer" to look at the internet.  If you'd like my website (mrpiercey.com) to look its best, I suggest that you try another one.  My two suggestions are "Google Chrome" (click here to download) or "Mozilla Firefox" (click here to download).  Both of these seem to run my site a little smoother.  They also load up a lot quicker!  We've also got a project coming up soon that these two Internet browsers seems to work best with.  I'll be sending home more info about that tomorrow.

Thanks again for all you do.  You are all so much more help than you know.
