Happy Saturday!

I hope you are all having a great weekend (even with all this rain!)  Although, to be fair, my wife's flower garden is definitely enjoying it!

Believe it or not, the mid-term for the first nine weeks was this past Thursday, which means that Mid-term reports will be going home at the end of next week.  Those will need to be signed and returned to school the next day.

Our 5K race is generating a lot of buzz around the community!  In the one week since the website has been up, its website has already been visited close to 2000 times! Let's keep spreading the word about it!  Don't forget, tell your friends they can register for the race online by going to run4dc.com and clicking on "Register".  Also, we're still looking for more sponsors for our race.  If you think your job/place of work might be interested in sponsoring us, please email me back and let me know.  I can send home a sponsorship form with your child on Monday.

I know several of you have been asking about the Social Studies project and its due date.  The finished project is not due until September 19th, so we've still got another week and half to finish it up.  I apologize for not giving your child more time in school to finish it up so far, but MAP testing took up our computer labs for the past two weeks.  Sorry!  I've signed up for the computer labs on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this week, and hopefully that will put the finishing touches on your child's work.  If not, we'll go down a few more days until its done!

For those of you who were expecting your child's homework to be emailed to you yesterday, sorry!  I was out at a teacher training yesterday and didn't update the homework website in time.  My fault!

Lastly, don't forget that the first payment for our trip to Washington, DC ($50.00 per person going) is also due September 19th.  We're sending home an itinerary for the trip in the take home folders on Monday, so be sure to look for those!

Phew, I think that's it!  It was great to see so many Grandparents in the building on Thursday.  That event just seems to get bigger and bigger every year.  Please give them all a huge THANK YOU from all of us over here!
