DC Meeting Moved and Some Reminders

Here's a photo I took during the ice-storm this week.  Neat, huh?
Students and Parents:

I can't believe all this snow and ice we've had so far!  This is definitely one of the snowiest winters that I can remember in a long time.  Hope you all are staying safe and warm!

I hope that all of you are all ready for the Olympics this weekend!  Click here to see the schedule of events if you want to watch.

Here's a few reminders for this upcoming week:

The fifth grade Washington, DC meeting has been moved until this Monday, February 10 at 6:00.  Please bring your child's insurance card, money to purchase more candy for our fundraiser, and any late payments that you still owe for the trip.

Also, our FINAL DC payment is due on Wednesday, February 12th.  Remember: it's $60.00 per person going.

To help raise money for their Mammoth Cave field trip, the fourth graders are selling Valentines all next week.  The cost is 25 cents each (or you can buy a whole class set for $5.00).  Help support their cause!

Lastly, next week is "I Love to Read!" week at Simmons.  Each day will have a different theme:

“I Love to Read” Week

Monday - “Go on a Reading Adventure”—Wear your favorite destination t-shirt (Disneyworld, Smoky Mountains, Florida, etc.)

Tuesday – “’Workout’ Your Brain: Read!”- Wear school appropriate workout gear (tennis shoes, sweats, t-shirt, etc.)

Wednesday – “Go Wacky With a Good Book” – Wacky, mismatched clothes

Thursday - “Hunt Down a Great Book”—Wear your best camo!

Friday – “Score Big When You Read” – Wear a shirt from your favorite sports team

Phew! I think that's everything!

Oh, and here's your "Baby Hank Photo" of the Week:
Yeah, he's kind of a big deal.  :-)
